Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Spanish lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5)
- Create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that supports students language learning and cultural development
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure all students achieve their best
- Contribute to the development of the Spanish curriculum, ensuring it is relevant, engaging, and inclusive
- Foster a passion for languages through extra-curricular activities such as language clubs, cultural trips, or language competitions
- Collaborate with colleagues within the Modern Foreign Languages department to share best practices and enhance teaching methods
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and student behaviour
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including school events, assemblies, and enrichment activities
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in Spanish
- Strong track record of successful teaching at secondary level (Key Stage 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5)
- Passion for Spanish language and culture, and a commitment to inspiring students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students
- A good understanding of the national curriculum and assessment methods in Spanish
- Ability to use a variety of teaching strategies to support students with diverse learning needs
- High expectations of student behaviour and academic achievement
